i will tell you this really sweet story. i am obsessed with cheeseburgers and i would eat them for every meal if i could do so and not be 500 lbs but thats not possible so i save them for special occasions. anyway, my family knew i was dying to go to umami and at the time they only had them in la, and they all went without me and i was so sad. i told this story to andrew once, offhand, and didn’t really think anything of it. when we were getting back together and he lived in hollywood i came to la to visit him for the first time. i got off the plane at like 9:00pm and was starving, and he said we were going to stop for food. so we get out of the car and i look down the street, and i realized he was taking me to umami. and i cried. i literally cried in front of the restaurant because i was so excited to eat this cheeseburger with my soon to be boyfriend who had remembered this story from like 6 months before and wanted me to be happy. the end.
